What equipment do I need?

A phone with a decent camera is enough. Most creators shoot entirely on their phone. The cheapest upgrade is natural sunlight — videos shot outdoors or near a window look dramatically better than anything you can achieve with gear.

How do I get my first gig?

Two ways: list a service with your rate (brands browse services and reach out), or apply to gigs brands have posted.

There are no gigs right now, should I still join?

Yes. Your profile is a page brands can find — by service, location, budget — through the directory, Google, or AI search tools. Your contact info is on your profile so any brand that comes across you can reach out directly.

Do I have to be in Lagos?

No. Creators work from every region in Nigeria, as long as you have a Nigerian bank account to receive payment.

How do I know a creator is real?

Every portfolio is public, so judge the actual work before you message anyone. For identity, skip photos and selfies — AI can fake those instantly. The fast check: ask the creator to confirm a detail from your brief with a quick DM from the TikTok or Instagram handle listed on their profile, or DM that handle yourself before funding the deal. A reply from their real account proves whoever controls that handle controls the work behind the portfolio. Takes two minutes.

Who owns the content? What usage rights do I get?

You do — fully. Pay for a video and use it everywhere: organic posts, paid ads, cutdowns, other campaigns, for as long as you need. We don't put walls between brands and the content they paid for. If a creator wants restrictions — no paid ads, time-limited use, exclusivity — they say so before taking the deal, and both sides agree in ugc.ng chat. Whatever's agreed there is the record we enforce.

I'm outside Nigeria, can I still hire creators?

Yes. You pay in Naira and your card auto-converts (Visa, Mastercard, etc.). The creator receives Naira to their Nigerian bank account.

How much can I earn?

You set your own rate. Creators on ugc.ng charge anywhere from ₦15,000 to ₦200,000+ per post depending on scope, deliverables, and experience. There is no cap — if your work justifies a higher rate, charge it.

Is ugc.ng really free for creators?

Yes. You keep 100% of every payout. The brand pays a 15% protection fee on top of your rate — that's how the platform runs. Your earnings are never touched.

How do I get paid?

Bank transfer the next day after the brand approves your delivery. Approved before 3 pm? Paid the next business day. You don't request it — it arrives.

What if the brand doesn't pay?

They can't. The brand pays the full amount upfront before any work starts. ugc.ng holds it under purchase protection. It pays out to you only when the work is approved. There is no unpaid scenario on a funded deal.

What if the brand rejects my work unfairly?

We review the delivery against the brief. If it matches what was agreed, you get paid — even if the brand never responds. After 7 days of silence, we rule on the work and release the money to you if it fits the brief. Usage rights work the same way — whatever was agreed in chat is the record we go by.

How do brands find me?

Your profile appears in the creator directory, filterable by service, location, and budget. Brands also browse profiles directly and send offers to creators they like. You don't need to apply to everything — sometimes they come to you.

Can I be discovered by people not logged into ugc.ng?

Yes. Public profiles are indexed by Google and crawled by AI tools. Brands, agencies, and talent scouts search for creators the same way you search on Google. A complete profile is discoverable long after you create it.

What makes a profile get hired?

A clear bio that says what you make, recent portfolio samples so brands can see your quality, an honest rate, and fast responses to messages. The creators who fill out their profile thoroughly and reply quickly get the most offers.

Can I work with brands I already know off-platform?

Yes. And when you bring that deal onto ugc.ng, you get the same protections — payment protection, delivery tracking, dispute review — that any on-platform deal gets. It gives you and the brand a clean record of what was agreed and delivered.

What kind of content do brands want?

Product reviews, UGC-style ads, unboxings, testimonials, social media clips — each gig specifies exactly what the brand needs. If you can shoot a genuine-looking video about a product, you have a service a brand will pay for.

Can I work with multiple brands at the same time?

Yes. There is no exclusivity. You're not a contractor — you're a creator. Your time is yours. Take multiple gigs, set your own schedule, work at your own pace.

Will my profile ever be removed?

Only if it's clearly fake (stolen photos, false information) or genuinely empty — broken links, incorrect or stale data, too vague, no real profile photo. A profile that looks like no effort was put into it may be removed. Real creators with real profiles have nothing to worry about.
