Your UGC creator bio is the first thing a brand reads after clicking on your profile. It should answer one question: can this creator make the type of content I need?
Most creator bios fail because they tell the brand about the creator's personality instead of their skills. Brands aren't hiring a person — they're hiring a content creator with specific capabilities. Write your bio to reflect that.
What a UGC Creator Bio Should Include
Your content niche or specialisation. Not every category you've ever shot — the one or two you're strongest in. "I create UGC content for Nigerian skincare and beauty brands" is more useful to a brand reviewing your profile than "I create lifestyle, beauty, wellness, fashion, food, and tech content."
The content types you produce. Short-form video. Product reviews. Tutorials. Unboxings. Testimonials. Pick the 2–3 formats you have the strongest samples for.
Who you create for. "Nigerian DTC brands" or "fast-growing Nigerian consumer brands" tells brands immediately whether you're relevant to their context.
Location. Lagos. Abuja. Port Harcourt. This matters for physical product delivery.
Optionally: one line on approach or niche POV. Only include this if it adds something specific — "I focus on authentic product demonstration over polished presentation" tells a brand something about your style. "I'm passionate about helping brands tell their story" tells them nothing.
What to Leave Out
Your follower count. Irrelevant to UGC. Brands are buying your content creation skill, not your audience reach. Including it signals a misunderstanding of what UGC is.
Vague values language. "I believe in authentic storytelling and meaningful brand partnerships." Every creator says this. It says nothing.
Personal background unrelated to content. Your day job, educational background, relationship status, personal interests — unless they directly explain why you're credible in your niche (e.g., "as a registered nurse, I create health and wellness UGC with clinical credibility").
Long lists of categories. Claiming 8 niches reads as having no niche. Pick 1–2 and be specific.

How to Write Yours in 5 Minutes
- Start with your location and your top 1–2 content categories
- Name the content types you're strongest in (review, demo, testimonial, unboxing, photography)
- Name the brand type you work with (Nigerian DTC brands, consumer brands, etc.)
- Add one specific detail that makes it yours (brief count, niche credibility, availability)
- Cut anything that doesn't answer "why should a brand choose me for a brief?"
Read your draft once. If a sentence doesn't help a brand decide whether to hire you, cut it.
