UGC Creator Media Kit Template

A simple UGC creator media kit template for Nigerian creators. What to include, what to leave out, and a copy-paste structure you can complete in one afternoon.

Most UGC creators don't need a media kit. Brands don't hire UGC creators based on follower counts or brand partnerships — they hire based on portfolio samples and niche relevance.

That said, a media kit is useful in specific situations: pitching larger brands who have a formal vendor intake process, applying to brand ambassador programmes, or when a brand asks "can you send me more information about yourself?"

This template is deliberately short. A UGC media kit should be 1–2 pages, not a 10-page PDF with brand guidelines.

When to Send a Media Kit vs When Not To

Send a media kit when:

  • A brand specifically asks for one
  • You're applying to a retainer arrangement with a larger brand
  • You're pitching a multi-deliverable campaign proposal

Don't send a media kit when:

  • Applying to a standard marketplace brief (a portfolio link is sufficient)
  • Responding to a cold DM enquiry (answer with a short message and portfolio link)
  • Pitching a small brand for a single brief

What a UGC Media Kit Should Include

A UGC media kit is different from an influencer media kit. You are not selling audience reach — you are selling content creation skill. This changes what belongs in the document.

Include:

  • Your name, niche, and location (Lagos / Nigeria)
  • A 3–4 sentence creator bio focused on what you make, not who you are
  • Portfolio samples or links (the most important section)
  • Your service list and rates (or "rates available on request")
  • Niche categories you cover
  • Recent brands you've worked with (if any)
  • Contact information and turnaround time

Do not include:

  • Your Instagram follower count (not relevant to UGC rates)
  • Engagement rate statistics (influencer metric, not UGC)
  • Long personal backstory
  • Generic "I'm passionate about content creation" language

Media Kit Design Notes

Format: A single Google Slides or Canva document exported as PDF. Keep it clean — white or neutral background, your brand colours only if you have a consistent visual identity.

Length: 1–2 pages maximum. If you're tempted to go longer, cut.

Update it. A media kit that lists brands from 18 months ago or a portfolio that hasn't been refreshed looks stale. Update it every 3–4 months.

Name the file properly. "[YourName]-UGC-MediaKit-[Month][Year].pdf" so brands can find it easily and know it's current.
